POWAR STEAM Wins 1st Prize New European Bauhaus at EIT Jumpstarter 2024
At the EIT Jumpstarter 2024 Grand Final held in Budapest, POWAR STEAM was awarded first place in the New European Bauhaus category, presented by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
EIT Jumpstarter is one of Europe's most prestigious pre-acceleration programmes, designed to turn scientific and technological ideas into companies with real impact. After months of competitive training, 49 finalist startups from across Europe defended their projects in Budapest before international juries.
POWAR STEAM, led by founder Pablo Zuloaga Betancourt, stood out in the New European Bauhaus category —the European Commission initiative promoting sustainable, inclusive, design-conscious solutions— winning the first prize, worth €10,000.
The jury valued the full integration of the P-Bit hardware, the POWAR CS climate simulator —still a prototype at the time, as shown on the project's own booth table, already conceived to simulate future scenarios such as "Barcelona 2050"— and the AI-powered teaching platform, as a proposal capable of bringing real climate experimentation into schools.
"Jumpstarter was our launchpad. It brought us clarity, connections, and a roadmap." — Pablo Zuloaga Betancourt, on POWAR STEAM's official EIT Jumpstarter profile
